Best Works
These works of art I have made over the course of my life are the ones I believe I put in the most effort for and turned out amazingly.
"Adventuring Into the Unknown"
When taking this photo next to this garage-looking door in the high school, I was thinking to myself "What if this chicken squish went adventuring into a tall cave?" This is where I saw the crevasse in the side of the door, I put the squish in place and took the shot. Afterwards editing it to the photo below.
"Backrooms"
Fascinated by the creepypasta "The Backrooms" throughout the past few years, it has been an inspiration to a good amount of my photos. I loved the liminal space idea, so I took photos in everyday places, but edited the photos ever so that they look to belong in the backrooms realm. These photos below are some of the photos I have taken over the past few years showing the liminal space in my own way.
"Birth of the Fire Cat"
In Sculpture class of 2023, we were tasked to create a spirit vessel that holds something dear to us. So the first thought that came to mind was a flower bowl. Originally this bowl was going to be purple, blue, and gold just because the colors sounded good and they popped into my head almost immediately. Though when I thought about it more, I felt the colors were too basic, so I brainstormed. Remembering that we are supposed to add something sentimental from home to our piece, I decided to take inspiration from the red glass cat figurine I have. When you shine a light through the glass cat, yellow shines through with red speckles, which to me looked like a fire to me. So I envisioned a cat emerging from a fire flower, which included the things I like, and followed the assignment rules. Below is the result of the spirit vessel.
"Bubbly Vase"
During sculpture 2024, I have done a lot of pottery, but I didn't explore what I can make, so I decided to try to take inspiration from a video online I watched and try to make a bubble-like vase, but in my own way. After creating this piece, I took one of the glazes I bought that has crystallized rainbows when fired and put it on the already black under glazed bubble vase. The result of the bubble vase is below.
"Contemporary"
During digital photography 2024 we were tasked to take photos of a contemporary dancer. I caught a photo of the dancer in an elegant stance, where the dress shines beautifully. To showcase this dress, I muted all of the skin tones and hair to a greyscale and left the dress in its green glory. To make the dress pop just the tiniest bit more, I shifted the green to have a yellow tone in the dress. The result is below.
"Ducks"
I am a huge fan of Caravan Palace, and when we were learning tessellations in 2-D Design I took the opportunity to make a duck tessellation inspired by the duck in Caravan Palace's music video "Mirrors." The result of the tessellation is below.
"Escape of the Manmade God"
Scientists are creating something, something huge, something life changing. They are creating a God. Centuries of torture, abuse, and loneliness he finally escapes, to wreak havoc upon everyone and anything. The images below captured the time he escapes, as I envisioned in my mind.
"Fantasy Sky"
Fantasy movies, shows, and videos have always captured my heart, and has driven me to create art based on fantasy-like phenomenon's. Below are some photos I took and edited to show what fantasy lands I love to imagine.
"Gateway to the Floral Getaway"
What if a statue could lead to another world? I thought this and continued to ponder this until I figured out a beautiful sight that could show what I mean by this. So, I started to work on the piece and after trial and error I finally came out with this piece, showing a statue of a lady forming an arch. Through this arch you will be led to a fantastical land of flower fields.
"Happy Being Me"
Sometimes we are trash, or weird, but we are who we are. Never change who you are, have fun with who you are, and find others that love you for you. I wanted to depict this in a photo, so I took a photo of myself in a trash can but looking happy. I depicted myself to look like trash to others, but to myself I am happy because I know I am unique, and someone will find me as treasure.
"Hazy Night"
This image captured a drastic time, where a house is on fire in the middle of the night. The electrical outlet inside of the walls has sparked a fire while everyone is unsuspecting while they are asleep. All they did was forget to turn off the lamp. In the end they all perished and all their loved ones mourned for their death. The photo below represents this story.
"I am Losing Myself"
During the winter I was feeling like I didn't know who I was. As time went on things got worse, luckily when the self-portrait assignment came up in Advanced Art 2023, I took the opportunity to get my feelings out into art. During this I felt like I had no one, couldn't trust anyone, didn't know who I was, or what I am. I felt like I was being dragged out of reality.
"Imperfections"
These may be broken, or different, but as humans we all are something, but never perfect. So as this collection grows, when more pieces of pottery breaks, I will build this collection to represent us as humans.
"Kaetzi"
This is just showing the improvement I have made from 2021 to now. If you check Traditional Art 2021 you will see where I started when I created him. The idea behind him is that he is a male with fire-based powers, where he has fire for hair.
"Meeting of <|°_°|>"
Regarding my love for Caravan Palace, I decided to take the opportunity to try to make it seem like the robot from "Rock it for Me" was real. Using a free avatar on VRChat I took a photo of the robot in a blank room with correct lighting, then myself in my room with the same lighting. In the end I took the two photos and a photo I took a few years ago to form the image below.
"Ocean Tide"
Survivor of a kiln explosion, and having hidden beauty inside, this piece of pottery represents humans too. Some may look ok but went through something catastrophic. The main thing about this piece is that beauty is hidden inside, not visible to the human eye. This is because it is our personalities that give us beauty, not the physical us.
"Oceanic Vase"
This vase is also another survivor of a kiln explosion, still holding onto pieces of the deceased pot. This represents how humans can hold onto the past regardless if they would like to or not. They can't get rid of it themselves; they need help from another individual to get the piece stuck out of there.
"Petina Statue"
In all honesty there's no story behind this guy, this was my first time welding an armature, and building a body out of foil and clay. I believe this belongs on here because I put in a lot of work to get a result that looks amazing for a first time.
"Polaroid <|°_°|>"
While doing lino cuts for Advanced Art 2023, I ended up cutting one of the prints I was working on in such a way that it looked like a polaroid.
"Reflective Beauty"
Glass, mirrors, any reflective surface will reflect what you see. I took this photo not only to show that I love gems, but to show I know I am of infinite value despite what others say. I hope when others see this photo it will tell them or remind them that they are of infinite value.
"Regret"
Have you ever regretted anything before? Well think of that time, this is what this guy feels. That is the emotion I am representing through this artwork, is the feeling of guilt.
"Strength in Confidence"
During this assignment in digital photography 2023, we were taking photos of Glenn Starkey who was displaying his muscles, and during this photoshoot I couldn't help but notice how confident he looked. So, I captured this confidence and showed this confidence the best I could.
"Summertime Depression"
When editing this photo, it reminded of one summer I was depressed, which lowered my mood a bit. So, during this assignment I expressed what I felt during that summer, even though it was about 2 years ago. This photo expresses parts of me shutting down from depression, the main two, heart and brain, but the rest is yet to follow.
"The Masquerade Murder"
Who was stabbed in the eye?
"The Purple Vinyl Relic"
This rare, limited edition, France exclusive, no longer in production Caravan Palace vinyl I discovered a while ago. Then for a commission for someone who bought the vinyl and sent it to me for me I created this artwork. Which is showing how secret this vinyl is, and how rare it is to find it.
"Trapped"
Sometimes I feel trapped inside my own brain, so I depicted that in this photo. I feel as if thoughts have a mind of their own, I can't be my own person, and everything is out of my control. Though its all in my head. I am still my own person and can do things I want to do.
"Vogue"
Seeing these three statues, 2 hands and a 1920's themed bust, I saw a possible photo expressing the beauty of the 1920's. The photo below is the result that I had gotten to represent the beauty of the 1920's.
"Welcome to the Gangbusters Melody Club"
Welcome to the Gangbusters Melody Club. This artwork has all 5 albums in this work of art, representing how far Caravan Palace had come from their first release in 2008. As well as showcasing their newest album, "Gangbusters Melody Club."
"The Five Vinyl Relics"
These rare vinyl's are all of the vinyl's Caravan Palace has released, and like the commission I had made, I took inspiration for this 2-D Design watercolor painting. This watercolor artwork shows all 6 vinyl's from the 3 different albums in a secluded and hidden place. This represents how rare these are, and will become.
"Surreal Depression"
This collage I had made in 2-D Design has many emotions, but the main one is an underlying hint of depression throughout the piece. Although some look happy, all are depressed in their own way. Anyone can be depressed, but can look happy, this piece represents that.
Potion Bottles
These are just some of the best potion bottles I have made so far.
Tea Party
This is a tea party, with shards of glass instead of tea. It may look pretty, but spilling the tea can hurt a lot of individuals. Be careful where you spill your tea, it can hurt more than you think.
Bioluminescence Flowers
Have you ever seen a flower glow? I haven't myself, so when I was editing this photo I took, I decided to make it look like it was glowing in the night, giving a light in the dark. For me looking at this gives me hope things will be better, because even when the night is dark, there's a lot that can make a light. No matter what state you're in, someone will be the light to lead your way.
AI Mimic
In this photograph I was messing around with some different features on my editing software when it ended up looking like AI with a filter that is supposed to give the image more dimension. That was the start of the idea for this photo to mimic AI without using AI. I edited the photo more like I usually do, and finished it.
Manipulation of Color
When messing with another feature of the editing software I use, I found out I could remove one color from the picture, creating a new color flower. As well as brightening and darkening the flowers or parts of the flower. Below are some flowers I have manipulated the colors of.
The Lady's Courtyard
When taking this photo I wanted to make the illusion that it was apart of a courtyard of a castle. When editing I had healed, darkened, and edited as much as I could to make this illusion.
Close Ups
When seeing things that have a lot of small detail, I tend to go for taking photos of those things. These photos below show the eye-catching photos I had taken of everyday objects up close.
Portals
When I was swimming at a friend's relatives house, I was looking at the glass table and how when the sun shines on the table, it shows all of the scratches on the table. After photographing it and started editing it I saw that it looked like a portal in space, so I decided to enhance that look.
Buzzing Bees
When taking photos of these flowers, there were bees buzzing around, so I did my best to be careful. Then I managed to take a photo of a bee up close.
